Bring Back Titan Football

Promoting the Reinstatement of the Cal State Fullerton Football Team

Bringbacktitanfootball.com is a website dedicated to the reinstatement of the Cal State Fullerton Football Team to active and competitive status. No matter if the team was winning championships or experiencing a difficult season, many students, alumni and fans were supportive of the program up until its cancellation. We believe that reinstating the Cal State Fullerton Football Team will provide a greater sense of pride and cohesiveness among current students, alumni and the community at large in the greater Orange County, California area. One of the main arguments for the elimination of the Cal State Fullerton Football program in 1992 was overall apathy and a lack of fan support. We believe that fan apathy towards the Cal State Fullerton Football Team no longer exists in today's climate. By reading this passage and by visiting this website you have taken a positive step forward towards eventually bringing back the Titan Football program.

Show Your Titan Football Pride January 26th

American Heritage BowlAlthough the Titan Football team will not be playing on January 26, 2008, you can still show your Titan Pride by attending a college football game at Titan Stadium. On January 26, 2008 our stadium will play host to the American Heritage Bowl which is an All Star game with players from America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities participating. The Bring Back Titan Football Committee encourages everyone who supports the return of Titan Football to attend this game and to wear orange clothing. This game is scheduled to be carried on one of the ESPN family of networks. If Titan Football supporters show up wearing orange and holding up signs, the TV cameras will surely notice this show of support.

Outside of this game being an excellent vehicle to gain some much needed momentum towards bringing back Titan Football, it is also a great way to see some fantastic college football right on Cal State Fullerton’s campus. The four conferences that will be represented at the American Heritage Bowl are the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). Current NFL Players that came from historically black colleges include Baltimore Ravens QB Steve McNair (Alcorn State), San Diego Chargers CB Drayton Florence (Tuskegee), Houston Texans WR Corey Bradford (Jackson State), Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver (Alcorn State), New York Giants DE Michael Strahan (Texas Southern) and St. Louis Rams Safety Aeneas Williams (Southern U.) to name a few. NFL Hall of Famers, including Walter Payton, Jerry Rice, Willie Davis, Art Shell, John Stallworth and Jackie Slater, all played at historically black colleges but never had the chance to play in a college football All Star game like the American Heritage Bowl. As you can see from the impressive list of names, this is a great opportunity to see some of the future stars of the NFL play in your own backyard.

…Wearing ORANGE is a great way to show your support, but making a sign promoting the reinstatement of Cal State Fullerton Titan Football is even better…

A game of this magnitude will surely bring media coverage not only from the ESPN cameras but from local and national media outlets as well. If the Cal State Fullerton Football supporters come out and really support this game, it undoubtedly will be viewed positively and will show that we desperately want Titan Football to return to the field. Wearing orange is a great way to show your support, but making a sign promoting the reinstatement of Titan Football is even better. A sign promoting this web site (bringbacktitanfootball.com) would be huge in gaining exposure for our cause. The more people that know about this effort to bring back Titan Football, the better the chances are of the team coming back.

Tickets for the American Heritage Bowl can be purchased online HERE. The ticket cost is $25 each; however, group tickets are available by e-mailing Natalie.

In addition to the college All Star game, a high school All Star game will be played the same day at 1:15 p.m. The game will feature players from Orange County, San Diego, and Imperial counties against all stars from San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Some the Orange County players who have been invited include Mater Dei’s Robbie Boyer, Andrew Abbott and Carlo Valdes; Los Alamitos’ Kameron Jones and Darren Koontz; Servite’s Austin Niklas and Stuart Hein; Hunter Steffien and Daniel Morrison of St. Margaret’s; Santa Margarita’s Logan Harrell; Tesoro’s Tim Hodgdon; San Clemente’s Kevin Murphy and Kennedy’s Jeremy Hensley. The same ticket gets you admission to both the high school and college All Star games.

To show your support for the reinstatement of Titan Football, make sure to attend the January 26, 2008 All Star games to be held at Cal State Fullerton’s Titan Stadium. Wear orange and be supportive of football returning to Titan Stadium. Bring signs that support the reinstatement of Cal State Fullerton Football. Encourage people to visit bringbacktitanfootball.com. Most of all, help spread the word that Cal State Fullerton students and alumni miss their football team and want it back.
